Residential Windows and Doors

What to look for when selecting an ethical residential window and door business:

When selecting any business to do work on your next project for your home you should select a business that:

  1. Shows you a copy of their insurance cover letter.

  2. Verify and actually call references.

  3. Ask how they handle problems and complaints.

  4. Get everything in writing, make sure what is in the contract is actually what is going into your home.

  5. Never be pressured into making a decision today.

  6. Make sure the estimator is actually a person that is qualified to do the installation.

The important thing to understand about a window and door business is to make sure that you are comfortable with the company you select and the person doing the installation.

What to avoid when selecting a business in this industry:

  1. A business that does not show you their insurance. If someone is injured on the job and is not insured the consumer may be liable. Why take that chance?

  2. A business that plays price games.

  3. A business that will not provide you a detailed estimate.

  4. A business that ask for excessive deposits.

  5. A business that apply pressure.

  6. A business that will not let you call customers. Most happy clients are happy to talk.

  7. You get what you pay for. If you want qualified and insured installers, you may need to pay a little more, but in most cases it is money well spent.

  8. A business that make guarantees that appear too good to be true.

  9. It is our opinion to stay away from a business where the sales people are not qualified installers.

After interviewing and running an extensive background check the National Association Against Consumer Fraud has awarded the following business a listing in The Business A-List:

Around the House

Phone (919) 496-7029

Why Around the House was offered the opportunity to be a Business A-List participant?

After spending time with Paul and Pamela Kwiatkowski, the owners of Around the House, it is very clear how committed they both are to following the “Golden Rule”. Paul is very hands on and spent time educating us that in many cases complete windows to not have to be replaced, but a single pane is all that is needed.

Around the House takes pride in their work, and will always make sure a job is not finished, until it is done correctly.
