Pest Control

What to look for when selecting an ethical pest control company:

When selecting any pest control company to do work on your home or commercial property you should select a company that:

  1. Shows you their business license before being asked.

  2. Shows you a copy of their insurance cover letter.

  3. Verify and actually call references.

  4. Ask how they handle problems and complaints.

  5. Get everything in writing, make sure what is in the contract is actually what is going tom be done.

  6. Never be pressured into making a decision today.

  7. In most cases it is impossible to determine the final cost of a project over the phone; in reality the consumer is just being “low-balled”. It is wise to work with companies that take the time to give an in person estimate, therefore you will not be shocked at the final bill.

  8. It is very important to select a certified pest control professional. Many companies are certified and that is good, BUT, it is important that the person that is actually protecting YOUR property is certified. It does no you no good to select a qualified business if the person that is actually doing the work and making the decisions is not qualified.

The important thing to understand about a pest control company is to make sure that you are comfortable with the person you select.

What to avoid when selecting a business in this industry:

  1. A company that does not show you their business license. There are many companies that act like real businesses, but in reality they are not operating legally. Why reward them.

  2. A business that does not show you their insurance. If someone is injured on the job and is not insured the consumer may be liable. Why take that chance?

  3. Companies that play price games.

  4. Companies that will not provide you a detailed estimate.

  5. Companies that apply pressure.

  6. Companies with a high turnover rate. It is important to have an experienced pest control expert at your property. It is not important that the business has been around for 50 years if the person mixing the chemicals at your home has no experience.

  7. Companies that will not let you call customers. Most happy clients are happy to talk.

  8. You get what you pay for. If you want qualified and insured professionals, you may need to pay a little more, but in most cases it is money well spent.

  9. Companies that make guarantees that appear too good to be true.

  10. Under no circumstances is it wise to have a person apply chemicals on your property that is not certified.

After interviewing and running an extensive background check the National Association Against Consumer Fraud has awarded the following business a listing in The Business A-List:

Pest-Tech
The Bug Stops Here

Phone (919) 906-5155

Why Pest-Tech was offered the opportunity to be a Business A-List participant?

Dennis Gantt, the owner of Pest-Tech, is truly a professional pest control expert. Dennis personally makes sure that every property is treated properly and safely according to the manufacturer’s specifications. After researching the industry it is very clear that many companies are not insured and many of the employees that are actually applying the chemicals and determining what are the right chemicals are not certified pest control experts.
