Insurance - Homeowners

What to look for when selecting an ethical Transmission- Engine Diagnosis and Electrical Repair shop:

When selecting any insurance policy select it is always wise to select a consultant that:

  1. Has a solid track record within the financial industry.

  2. Have many different insurance companies to select from.

  3. Has a physical local address.

  4. Spends the time to educate you on ALL of the options and what is not only in your policy, what is missing from your policy.

  5. An ethical insurance consultant is not afraid to tell you how they are compensated.

  6. An ethical insurance consultant is going to be asking a tremendous amount of questions. They also spend more time listening to your needs than selling.

  7. An ethical insurance consultant does not give price quotes over the phone. It is impossible to give accurate quotes without all of the information. In most cases you are just being low balled to get you in their office.

When researching this category we went into it thinking that there would be an advantage to the consumer by purchasing through the internet versus having to pay commissions to a local agent that provides personal service. In reality, there is virtually no cost difference. It is our opinion that since insurance policies and options are very complicated it is VERY WISE to have a locally owned agency go over all of the choices and plans that are available to you.

It is also our recommendation to pay very close attention to your coverage amounts. It is wise to have more insurance than less, and in most cases to be fully protected, the additional cost is negligible. Remember, your world can turn upside down real quickly, so do the research and protect yourself and your family.

What to avoid when selecting a business in this industry:

  1. Purchasing insurance over the internet without knowing all of your options.

  2. Carry the state minimums of insurance. Very rarely will that be enough to protect you.

  3. Agents that quote policy prices over the phone without knowing all of the information.

  4. Agents that only sell for one insurance company. That may be the company that you select, but it is wise to get other options.

After interviewing and running an extensive background check the National Association Against Consumer Fraud has awarded the following business a listing in The Business A-List:

Clark & Associates
Insurance Consultants

8502 Six Forks Road, Suite 101
Raleigh, NC 27615
Phone (919) 844-2995

Why Clark & Associates was offered the opportunity to be a Business A-List participant?

After meeting Mathew Clark, the owner of Clark & Associates, it became very clear that they were not your typical insurance office. Mr. Clark spent a tremendous amount of time educating about the mistakes that consumers fall into when selecting insurance. I know they are true from personal experiences, and how they affect other people even when you are not at fault. The goal of Clark & Associates is not to sell insurance, but to educate the consumer about what is available to them and how they can protect their family. It was very refreshing and educational. Like everything, you get what you pay for and it is nice to know with homeowners insurance, you can actually get more and pay less if you go to the right places and do the research.
