When selecting any contractor to do work on your next electrical project you should select a contractor that:

1. Shows you their contractor’s license before being asked.

2. Explains the need to verify that their contractor’s license is legitimate.

3. Shows you a copy of their insurance cover letter.

4. Verify and actually call references.

5. Ask how they handle problems and complaints.

6. Get everything in writing, make sure what is in the contract is actually what is going into your home or business.

7. Never be pressured into making a decision today.

The important thing to understand about an electrical contractor is to make sure that you are comfortable with the company you select.

What to avoid when selecting a business in this industry:

1. A contractor that does not show you their contractor’s license. There are many companies that act like licensed electricians that are not qualified or use other people’s licenses.
