Countertops

What to look for when selecting an ethical countertop business:

When selecting any business to do work on your next project for your home or office you should select a business that:

  1. Shows you a copy of their insurance cover letter.

  2. Verify and actually call references.

  3. Ask how they handle problems and complaints.

  4. Get everything in writing, make sure what is in the contract is actually what is going into your home or office.

  5. Never be pressured into making a decision today.

  6. Make sure that you are getting everything in writing. It is important that the bid is complete and the exact type of marble or granite is in writing as well as the final cost.

What to avoid when selecting a business in this industry:

  1. A business that does not show you their insurance. If someone is injured on the job and is not insured the consumer may be liable. There will be workers moving heavy objects in your home or office. Why take that chance?

  2. A business that plays price games.

  3. It is impossible for a business to give accurate price quotes in this industry. In most cases they are “low ball” estimates designed to get you face to face with a sales person. An ethical business will take the time to gather all of the information before determining a real price.

  4. A business that will not provide you a detailed estimate.

  5. A business that ask for excessive deposits.

  6. A business that apply pressure.

  7. A business that will not let you call customers. Most happy clients are happy to talk.

  8. You get what you pay for. If you want qualified and insured installers, you may need to pay a little more, but in most cases it is money well spent.

  9. There are also many different types of marbles. Make sure that you are comparing apples to apples. Products imported from CHINA are not the same as other marble and granite. Do the research and make sure that you are getting what you expected.

  10. A business that make guarantees that appear too good to be true.

  11. It is our opinion to stay away from a business where the sales people are not qualified installers.
