Residential / Commercial Auto Glass

What to look for when selecting an ethical residential and commercial auto glass company:

When selecting any auto glass company to do work on your vehicle you should select a business that:

  1. Shows you their business license before being asked.
  2. Explains the need to verify that their contractor’s license is legitimate.
  3. Shows you a copy of their insurance cover letter.
  4. Verify and actually call references.
  5. Ask how they handle problems and complaints.
  6. Understand the warranty completely.
  7. Get everything in writing, make sure what is in the contract is actually what is going into your vehicle.
  8. Never be pressured into making a decision today.
  9. Verify that what is being installed is exactly what you are paying for.
  10. Make sure they are qualified to install the glass correctly to manufacturer’s specifications.
  11. Make sure that you understand the quality of the window that is being installed.  It is also important to make sure that you are comparing apples to apples.  Do not trust what you are being told, please do the research.
  12. It is important to use OEM parts.  There is a difference so do not be fooled by imitations.  If the glass is manufactured in China, understand that it is not of the highest quality so do not pay top dollar.

The important thing to understand about auto glass repair is to make sure that you are comfortable with the company that is installing the product. It is also important to make sure that the company you select puts in the molding and bonding.  It is common in the industry to skip this step to save the money and it is very important in the installation process.  It is also our opinion to select a business with a track record in the community, due to the fact that the warranty is no good if the business is no longer around.

What to avoid when selecting a business in this industry:

  1. Companies that do not show you their insurance policy. If an installer is injured on your property and the installer is not insured you may be liable. Why take that risk?
  2. Companies that play price games. It is impossible to determine a real price over the phone, many companies will low-ball the price in order to get the job started.
  3. Companies that will not provide you a detailed estimate. The more detailed the better, make sure what you are actually paying for is being installed in your vehicle.
  4. Companies that apply pressure.
  5. Companies that will not let you call customers. Most happy clients are happy to talk.
  6. You get what you pay for. If you want qualified and insured installers, you may need to pay a little more, but in most cases it is money well spent. If the glass is not installed correctly it will not only leak, but it is very dangerous.
  7. Make sure that you are comparing apples to apples. There is a big difference in the quality of glass and you really do get what you pay for.
  8. There is a tremendous amount of bait and switch being played in this industry.
  9. It can not be emphasized enough to get the whole price of the job in a detailed estimate.
  10. Make sure it is installed professionally as to manufacturer’s specifications.
After interviewing and running an extensive background check the National Association Against Consumer Fraud has awarded the following business a listing in The Business A-List:

Ever-Ready Mobile Glass Service

500 Nowell Rd.
Raleigh, NC 27607
Phone (919) 851-0721

Why Ever-Ready Mobile Glass Service was offered the opportunity to be a Business A-List participant?

Mr. and Mrs. Williford, owners of Ever-Ready Mobile Glass Services, have a tremendous amount of experience installing glass in the Triangle area.  All of the glass is installed by certified professional using OEM parts.

Most consumers just shop price in this industry, but we have learned through our interviews that although price is always important, the safety of the people driving the vehicle is of more importance.  If the glass is installed incorrectly or a business cuts corners your safety may be in jeopardy.  We would not take that risk with tires and brakes, why take the risk with the windshield.  Please do the research and select qualified and experienced installers.
